Nepali Army Bus Crash in Bhojpur Injures 24 Election Security Personnel

A bus transporting Nepali Army personnel assigned for election security duties crashed in Bhojpur district on Wednesday, injuring 24 people, according to police and army officials.

The accident occurred near Setibagar in Bhojpur Municipality–3 when a bus bearing registration number Na 4 Kha 7317 veered off a road bend and fell downhill. A total of 26 individuals, including 24 army personnel and the driver, were on board at the time of the incident.

Deputy Superintendent of Police Raju Lama, chief of the District Police Office, Bhojpur, said 24 people were injured in the crash. Emergency responders reached the site shortly after the incident and began rescue operations.

The bus was carrying personnel from the Nepali Army’s New Shreenath Battalion in Bhojpur. The security team had been deployed to Temkemaiyung Rural Municipality in western Bhojpur district as part of election security preparations.

Eight injured personnel reported to be in serious condition were airlifted to Kathmandu for advanced treatment. The Nepali Army deployed two helicopters for the evacuation. Other injured individuals are receiving treatment at Bhojpur District Hospital. Authorities said an investigation is underway to determine the cause of the crash.
