UML Candidate Kshitij Thebe Leads Vote Count in Taplejung, Overtakes Congress Candidate Tumbahang

CPN-UML candidate Kshitij Thebe has moved ahead in the vote count in Taplejung, securing 9,034 votes and overtaking Nepali Congress candidate Gajendra Prasad Tumbahang Limbu in the House of Representatives election.

CPN-UML candidate Kshitij Thebe has taken the lead in the ongoing vote count for the House of Representatives election in Taplejung. Earlier in the vote count, Nepali Congress candidate Gajendra Prasad Tumbahang Limbu had been leading. However, the latest tally shows Thebe moving ahead.

According to the latest vote count, Thebe has secured 9,034 votes, while Tumbahang has received 7,770 votes. Khel Prasad Budhakhetri of the Nepal Communist Party is in third place with 4,040 votes, while Santosh Rai of the Shram Sanskriti Party is in fourth place with 3,240 votes.

Vote counting in the constituency is still ongoing, and the final result has not yet been announced. In the previous parliamentary election, CPN-UML leader Yogesh Bhattarai had been elected from Taplejung. In this election, however, the UML decided not to nominate Bhattarai and instead fielded Kshitij Thebe as its candidate.
