RSP Wins 49 Seats as Results Declared in 62 Constituencies in Nepal House of Representatives Election

Kathmandu — Final results have been announced in 62 constituencies in Nepal’s ongoing House of Representatives election, with the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) winning 49 seats, according to the latest vote count released by election officials on Saturday evening.

Among the declared results, the Nepali Congress has secured eight seats, while the Nepal Communist Party (NCP) and the CPN-UML have each won two seats. One independent candidate has also been elected.

RSP Records Major Victories Across the Country

In Chitwan-2, RSP Chairman Rabi Lamichhane won by a wide margin with 54,402 votes, defeating Nepali Congress candidate Meena Kharel, who secured 14,564 votes. The margin between the two candidates was 39,838 votes.

In Banke-3, Khagendra Sunar of the RSP secured victory with 29,551 votes, defeating CPN-UML candidate Suman Malla by 9,936 votes.

In Banke-1, Suresh Kumar Chaudhary of the RSP won the seat with 32,792 votes, while Narayan Prasad Gaudel of the Nepali Congress received 15,301 votes.

In Kathmandu-4, Pukar Bam of the RSP won with 29,142 votes, defeating Nepali Congress candidate Sachin Timilsena, who received 8,824 votes, by a margin of 20,318 votes.

In Morang-6, Rubina Acharya of the RSP secured victory with 55,513 votes, while Nepali Congress candidate Shekhar Koirala received 12,850 votes.

In Rupandehi-4, Kanhaiya Baniya of the RSP won with 28,066 votes, defeating CPN-UML candidate Pramod Kumar Yadav, who received 20,262 votes.

In Syangja-1, Dhananjay Regmi secured victory with 29,071 votes, defeating Nepali Congress candidate Bharat Raj Dhakal, who received 18,857 votes, by 10,214 votes.

In Mahottari-1, Pramod Kumar Mahato of the RSP won with 34,636 votes, defeating NCP candidate Giriraj Mani Pokharel, who received 12,624 votes.

In Kathmandu-9, RSP Vice-Chairman DP Aryal won with 35,093 votes, defeating Nepali Congress candidate Nanumaiya Bastola, who received 5,460 votes.

In Kathmandu-1, Ranju Darshana of the RSP secured 15,455 votes, defeating Nepali Congress candidate Prabal Thapa, who received 6,364 votes.

In Kathmandu-3, Rajunath Pandey of the RSP won with 18,757 votes, defeating Kulman Ghising of the Ujyalo Nepal Party, who received 11,171 votes.

In Kathmandu-6, Shishir Khanal of the RSP secured 27,719 votes, defeating Nepali Congress candidate Krishna Sabuj Baniya Chhetri, who received 6,647 votes.

In Kathmandu-7, Ganesh Parajuli of the RSP won with 27,805 votes, while Nepali Congress candidate Pramod Hari Guragain received 3,982 votes.

In Kathmandu-8, Biraj Bhakta Shrestha of the RSP secured 24,592 votes. NCP candidate Suman Sayami received 3,217 votes, while Nepali Congress candidate Sapana Rajbhandari secured 2,835 votes.

In Kathmandu-10, Pradeep Bista of the RSP won with 37,469 votes, defeating Nepali Congress candidate Himal Karki, who received 8,100 votes.

In Kaski-3, Bina Gurung of the RSP secured victory with 37,750 votes, while Nepali Congress candidate Manoj Gurung received 12,780 votes.

In Morang-4, Santosh Rajbanshi of the RSP secured 40,833 votes, defeating Nepali Congress candidate Gururaj Ghimire, who received 12,818 votes.

In Kathmandu-5, Sasmit Pokharel of the RSP won with 30,737 votes, defeating Nepali Congress candidate Pradeep Paudel, who received 9,159 votes.

In Kaski-2, Uttam Prasad Paudel of the RSP secured 31,911 votes, defeating CPN-UML candidate Rashmi Acharya, who received 7,493 votes.

In Dhanusha-3, Manish Jha of the RSP won with 43,988 votes, defeating Nepali Congress candidate Bimalendra Nidhi, who received 16,336 votes.

In Kathmandu-2, Sunil KC of the RSP secured 34,238 votes, defeating Nepali Congress candidate Kabir Sharma, who received 8,874 votes.

In Bhaktapur-1, Rukesh Ranjit of the RSP secured 33,436 votes, defeating Prem Suwal of the Nepal Workers and Peasants Party, who received 28,147 votes.

The RSP also secured victories in several other constituencies including Bara-3, Bara-4, Parsa-1, Baglung-1, Baglung-2, Parbat, Rupandehi-2, Rupandehi-3, Lalitpur-1, Kailali-1, Saptari-4, Sarlahi-1, Rautahat-1, Parsa-2, Sindhuli-2, Nuwakot-2, Bhaktapur-2, Kavre-2, Chitwan-3, Lamjung, Kaski-1, Tanahun-1, Gulmi-1, Gulmi-2, Arghakhanchi, and Kailali-5.

Nepali Congress Wins Eight Seats

The Nepali Congress secured victory in eight constituencies, including Terhathum, Rasuwa, Manang, Mustang, Dailekh-1, Doti, Achham-1, and Jajarkot.

NCP Wins Two Seats

The Nepal Communist Party (NCP) secured victory in Rukum, where Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ won with 10,240 votes, and in Kalikot, where Mahendra Bahadur Shahi secured 11,338 votes.

CPN-UML Wins Two Seats

The CPN-UML won in Banke-2, where Mohammad Istiyak Rai secured 24,628 votes, and in Bajhang, where Ain Mahar won with 18,543 votes.

Independent Candidate Wins in Myagdi

In Myagdi, Mahabir Pun won as an independent candidate, securing 22,850 votes. His closest rival, CPN-UML candidate Harikrishna Shrestha, received 7,919 votes.
