Kathmandu, Nepal — Rabi Lamichhane, chairperson of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), on Wednesday called on voters to reject long-established political parties in the upcoming Falgun 21 election.
Speaking at a public gathering titled “Parivartan Ughosh” in Dhangadhi, he urged citizens to cast their ballots in favor of change and not divide their votes. Lamichhane stated that leaders who fail to fulfill their promises should face accountability, arguing that the public should not continue to suffer the consequences of unkept commitments.
Criticism of Established Parties
Lamichhane accused traditional political forces of failing to deliver meaningful results over the past 35 years. He expressed dissatisfaction with what he described as repeated discussions about damaged state institutions without broader structural reform.
He said the upcoming vote presents an opportunity for citizens to demand responsibility from those in power and emphasized that political transformation requires more than rebuilding—it requires systemic change.
Focus on Sudurpaschim’s Development Concerns
Highlighting issues in Sudurpaschim Province, Lamichhane pointed to challenges in medical services, education, and healthcare infrastructure. He said his party is committed to addressing these problems if given public mandate.
He also warned voters about possible pressure or attempts to influence the electoral process and encouraged them to vote freely and without fear. The Falgun 21 election is expected to reflect public sentiment toward both established parties and emerging political alternatives in Nepal.
