Kathmandu — K. P. Sharma Oli, chairman of the CPN-UML and former prime minister, was taken to hospital for a medical examination following his arrest on Saturday, police officials said. Authorities transported Oli to Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital after completing initial legal procedures.
Hospital spokesperson Dr. Gopal Sedhain said Oli is undergoing evaluation in the emergency department, where tests including blood analysis and X-rays are being conducted. “He was brought for a routine medical examination, and further decisions will be made after the reports are available,” Sedhain said.
Police confirmed that Oli was detained earlier in the morning from his residence in Gundoo, Bhaktapur. He was first taken to the Kathmandu District Police Range in Bhadra Kali before being transferred to the hospital for health assessment.
