Kathmandu — Nepali Congress President Gagan Thapa said on Wednesday that his party plans to focus on nation-building over the next five years, outlining a results-oriented agenda centered on reform, stability and governance.
Speaking at an interaction program organized by the Intellectual Professionals Campaign Council in Kathmandu, Thapa said the Nepali Congress has prepared a structured plan aimed at delivering measurable outcomes within five years.
He acknowledged that previous opportunities had not been fully utilized and said the party has drawn lessons from past experience. According to Thapa, the party’s election manifesto includes programs designed to produce visible results within the five-year period. “It is time to deliver results,” Thapa said at the event.
Focus on Reform and Political Stability
Thapa stated that Nepal currently requires structural reforms and that the Nepali Congress has entered the electoral process with what he described as a commitment to guarantee reform. He said the party aims to prevent political instability and ensure inclusive national development.
He also said safeguarding democracy, improving service delivery and strengthening governance remain key priorities for the party. Thapa added that nation-building requires cooperation among political parties and stated that the Nepali Congress is prepared to take a leadership role in fostering broader collaboration.
According to him, the party has begun efforts to communicate its agenda at all levels, from grassroots communities to the national stage, with a focus on accountable governance and measurable progress over the next five years.
