CPN Leader Dev Prasad Gurung Calls for Free and Fair Elections in Lamjung
CPN leader Dev Prasad Gurung has called for free and fair elections in Lamjung, stressing transparency and vigilance against irregularities, while candidate Harijung Tamang pledged youth-focused development priorities.
CPN leader Dev Prasad Gurung has stressed that the upcoming elections must be conducted in a free, fair and transparent manner, urging all stakeholders to safeguard the integrity of the electoral process.
Speaking at a press meet organized by the District Election Mobilization Committee of CPN Lamjung in Besishahar Municipality–7, Gurung said political parties and citizens must remain vigilant to prevent any form of electoral irregularities.
He stated that impartial elections form the foundation of democracy and that protecting public trust in the voting process is a shared responsibility. “Only when elections are conducted peacefully and without malpractice can the true will of the people be reflected,” Gurung said.
At the same program, CPN candidate from Lamjung Harijung Tamang said the current political context requires youth leadership. Identifying himself as a representative of the younger generation, Tamang pledged to prioritize the district’s overall development and work to fulfill the aspirations of young people.
He said education, employment generation, infrastructure development and the expansion of local opportunities would be among his key priorities, appealing to voters for their support. “To give Lamjung new momentum, we need the backing and votes of the youth,” Tamang said.
Leaders attending the event also called on political parties and voters to uphold the dignity of the electoral process and ensure the elections are conducted peacefully and transparently.
