Kathmandu — A 31-year-old man was killed on Wednesday in a road accident involving a tip truck and a scooter in Banepa, Kavrepalanchok district, police said. The victim has been identified as Obhan Pradhan, originally from Dhulikhel Municipality–8 and currently residing in Banepa.
According to the District Police Office, Kavrepalanchok, the collision occurred along the Suryabinayak–Banepa road section. A tip truck with registration number Bagmati Province–01–004 Ka 3423, which was being used for road construction, struck a scooter registered as Bagmati Province–029–063 Pa 9189.
Police said the scooter was traveling from Banepa toward Sanga at the time of the crash. Deputy Superintendent of Police Rabin Bista told that Pradhan died following the collision despite immediate response efforts.
Following the accident, local residents set fire to the tip truck. The incident led to a temporary road blockade, disrupting traffic in the area. Police were deployed to control the situation. Authorities said an investigation into the incident is ongoing.
