Sunil KC Wins Kathmandu-2 Seat with 34,238 Votes in Nepal Parliamentary Election

Rastriya Swatantra Party candidate Sunil KC has been elected as a member of the House of Representatives from Kathmandu Constituency No. 2 after securing 34,238 votes, defeating Nepali Congress candidate Kabir Sharma in the parliamentary election.

Kathmandu — Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) candidate Sunil KC has been elected as a member of the House of Representatives from Kathmandu Constituency No. 2 in the parliamentary election.

According to Election Officer Shanti Nyaupane, KC secured 34,238 votes to win the seat. His closest rival, Kabir Sharma of the Nepali Congress, received 8,874 votes. Kuntidevi Pokharel of the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) secured 5,210 votes in the constituency.

In the previous election, the seat had also been won by the Rastriya Swatantra Party. Sobita Gautam was elected as a member of the House of Representatives from Kathmandu-2 in that election.

With this result, the Rastriya Swatantra Party has retained the Kathmandu-2 parliamentary seat. The Office of the Election Officer is preparing to formally announce the final result.
