Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) candidate Rajunath Pandey has been elected as a member of the House of Representatives from Kathmandu Constituency No. 3, according to the final vote count. Pandey secured 18,757 votes, defeating his closest rival Kulman Ghising of the Ujyalo Nepal Party, who received 11,171 votes in the constituency.
Ghising, who contested the election representing the Ujyalo Nepal Party, finished in second place. He is widely known in Nepal as the former Managing Director of the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA), where he gained national recognition for improving electricity supply and ending long hours of power cuts across the country.
During the vote counting process, Pandey maintained a clear lead over his nearest competitor. With the completion of the vote count, the Office of the Election Officer is preparing to formally announce the final result.
Kathmandu-3 is considered one of the important constituencies in the capital, and Pandey’s victory has strengthened the presence of the Rastriya Swatantra Party in Kathmandu.
With this result, the Rastriya Swatantra Party has now secured four seats in Kathmandu, including Kathmandu-1, Kathmandu-3, Kathmandu-6, and Kathmandu-8, in the ongoing House of Representatives election.
