President Ramchandra Paudel Leads Special Paddy Planting Program at Sheetal Niwas on Ashad 15

President Ramchandra Paudel and First Lady Sabita Paudel participated in a special paddy planting event at Sheetal Niwas on Ashad 15, emphasizing the importance of modern technology in agriculture and recognizing the vital role of farmers in Nepal’s economic development and cultural heritage.

Kathmandu — On Ashad 15, a traditional rice planting day, a special paddy planting program was successfully conducted at Sheetal Niwas, the official residence of the President of Nepal. The event, organized by the Office of the President, witnessed active participation from President Ramchandra Paudel and First Lady Sabita Paudel.

President Paudel emphasized the need to incorporate modern technology in the agriculture sector. He stated, “Agriculture should not only serve as a source of livelihood but must also become the foundation for business and prosperity.”

Acknowledging the hard work of farmers, he stressed the importance of building a society that respects all forms of labor. He further highlighted that the contribution of farmers should be given high priority to make agriculture a key part of employment and Nepal’s economic growth.

The program concluded with a cultural segment featuring traditional curd and beaten rice (dahi chiura), showcasing Nepal’s deep-rooted connection between agriculture and culture.
