Nepal to Deploy Helicopter Patrols for Security During House of Representatives Election

Nepal will deploy helicopter patrols across the country to enhance security during the House of Representatives election scheduled for Thursday, according to the Ministry of Home Affairs.

Kathmandu — Nepal’s Central Security Committee has decided to conduct helicopter patrols across the country to strengthen security during the House of Representatives election scheduled for Thursday.

The decision was made during a meeting of the Central Security Committee chaired by Home Minister Om Prakash Aryal, according to the Ministry of Home Affairs. Rama Acharya, co-spokesperson for the ministry, said helicopters will patrol different parts of the country during the election to support ground security forces and monitor the overall security situation.

She said the committee has also decided to keep helicopters on standby so that authorities can respond quickly if any security issue arises. The meeting further agreed that individuals involved in illegal or disruptive activities during the election period will face legal action.

Security agencies across Nepal have been placed on alert as the country prepares to hold nationwide voting for members of the House of Representatives on Thursday.
