Kathmandu – Kulman Ghising, Chairperson of the Ujyalo Nepal Party, said on Sunday that his party was established with the objective of leading the government and implementing its political commitments.
Speaking in Kathmandu during the public release of the party’s election manifesto, Ghising stated that political parties enter the democratic process with the aim of assuming leadership responsibility. He said that while opposition parties can raise issues in Parliament and represent public concerns, governing authority is necessary to fully implement policy commitments.
“Political parties are formed with the goal of leading the government,” Ghising said. “Even from the opposition, strong voices can be raised in Parliament. But leadership is required to implement commitments and address national challenges.”
Ghising added that his party will continue to raise national issues in Parliament as a strong representative force if it remains outside government. However, he emphasized that the party ultimately seeks to lead the government in order to fulfill the pledges outlined in its election manifesto.
He further stated that once in government, the party will implement the commitments mentioned in the manifesto in accordance with its policy framework.
Highlighting economic development as a key priority, Ghising said the party has placed special emphasis on increasing hydropower production. He described hydropower as central to Nepal’s long-term economic growth and national prosperity.
