Kathmandu — Chairman of the Communist Party of Nepal–Unified Marxist Leninist (CPN-UML) KP Sharma Oli said he was unable to sleep overnight as missile strikes escalated in the Middle East, expressing concern for Nepali nationals living abroad and their families in Nepal.
In a Facebook post early Sunday, Oli wrote that scenes of missiles and smoke in the sky left him restless. He said the anxiety faced by Nepalis residing overseas during the ongoing tensions had affected him deeply.
Oli stated that in an open global environment, it is natural for citizens to seek opportunities in different countries. However, he said war and geopolitical conflict create risks that extend beyond national borders.
He called for awareness, patience and courage during the current situation. Oli also said Nepal has not experienced the direct impact of missile attacks and expressed hope that the country would remain unaffected by any military escalation. He emphasized the need to ensure the safety and security of Nepali citizens living abroad.
