Nepal House of Representatives Election on Thursday

Nepal will conduct House of Representatives elections nationwide on Thursday from 7 AM to 5 PM, with the Election Commission outlining voter ID requirements and special arrangements.

Nepal will conduct voting for members of the House of Representatives across the country on Thursday, the Election Commission said. Polling will take place at designated voting centers from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The Commission has urged eligible voters to reach their respective polling stations on time and exercise their democratic right.

Only individuals whose names appear on the official voter roll will be allowed to cast ballots. Voters must carry an official identification document to verify their identity.

The Election Commission stated that voters who possess a voter identification card issued by the Commission are required to present it at the polling station. If the voter ID card is unavailable, any one of the following documents may be used: citizenship certificate, national identity card, passport, driver’s license, or land ownership certificate (Lalpurja).

Separate queues will be arranged for male and female voters at polling centers to ensure orderly crowd management.

Special Arrangements for Voters With Specific Needs

Special arrangements have been made for voters with specific needs. Persons with disabilities, senior citizens, pregnant women, postpartum mothers, and individuals who face difficulty voting independently may receive assistance from the chief polling officer, assistant polling officer, designated staff, or volunteers at the polling station.

The Commission has instructed election officials to ensure that voters with disabilities and special requirements are provided a safe, respectful, and accessible environment for voting.

According to the Commission, all necessary preparations have been completed to conduct the election in a peaceful and orderly manner. Citizens have been encouraged to participate actively in the electoral process and exercise their democratic rights.
