Lalbabu Mansuri of the Aam Janata Party was injured after being struck with a stick during an election campaign in Rautahat. Doctors confirmed a nasal fracture, and police have launched an investigation.

Lalbabu Mansuri, a proportional representation candidate of the Aam Janata Party led by Prabhu Sah, was injured in an attack during an election campaign in Rautahat district on Monday evening. Doctors have confirmed that his nasal bone was fractured.

The incident occurred in Bedouli village of Gujara Municipality–6 while party leaders and supporters were conducting a door-to-door campaign. At the time, party chair and former minister Prabhu Sah, a candidate for the House of Representatives, was meeting local residents as part of the outreach program.

According to Mansuri, a group of individuals allegedly affiliated with rival political parties attempted to disrupt the campaign by playing loud music through a DJ system. As tensions escalated, a brief scuffle followed. Mansuri said he tried to calm the situation, but during the confrontation, an unidentified individual struck him on the nose with a stick from a distance.

He was immediately taken to a hospital in Chandranigahapur for treatment. After receiving medical care, he was discharged and is currently resting at his home in Gujara. Doctors confirmed that his nose was fractured due to the assault.

Police personnel arrived at the scene shortly after the incident and brought the situation under control. Those involved fled upon seeing the police, according to Mansuri. Mansuri alleged that local members of the Janata Samajbadi Party (JSP) and the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) were involved in the attack.

The District Police Office, Rautahat, confirmed the incident and said an investigation is underway. Mansuri has called for a thorough and impartial probe and demanded that those responsible be brought to justice.
