Kathmandu — Nepal’s Home Minister Om Prakash Aryal has said the government will leave no shortcoming in ensuring that the upcoming House of Representatives election is conducted in a free, fair and fear-free environment.
Speaking during a meeting at the Ministry of Home Affairs on peace and security, election preparedness and other contemporary issues, Aryal said the government has prepared and implemented the “Concept on Enhancing Coordination and Collaboration up to the Ward Level for Systematic Election Management, 2082 (2025/26).”
He said the framework is designed to strengthen coordination and cooperation down to the ward level to ensure systematic and well-managed election administration.
According to the Home Minister’s Secretariat, representatives of umbrella organizations of local governments stated during the discussion that they are playing a coordinating role from their respective positions to help conduct the elections in a clean, impartial and fear-free atmosphere.
The meeting was attended by Home Secretary Raj Kumar Shrestha; Chief Investigation Director Tekendra Karki; President of the Nepal Municipal Association Bhim Prasad Dhungana; President of the National Association of Rural Municipalities, Nepal Laxmi Devi Pandey; Executive Director of the District Coordination Committee Federation Bharat Kumar Bhattarai; and Chief of the Security and Coordination Division at the Ministry of Home Affairs Anand Kafle, among other officials.
