Nepal’s Election Commission has rejected a complaint filed against Rajib Khatri, the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) candidate from Bhaktapur–2, allowing his candidacy to remain in place.

The commission said the complaint was dismissed after Khatri submitted a clarification along with supporting documents addressing the allegations made against him. With the decision, the commission confirmed that Khatri is eligible to continue contesting the election from Bhaktapur–2.

The Election Commission also dismissed complaints filed against other candidates, including Nepali Communist Party candidate Madhav Kumar Nepal and Nepal Janasewa Party candidate Januka Pathak, stating that the allegations did not meet the required legal grounds.

Nepal is contesting the election from Rautahat–1, while Pathak is running from Bhaktapur–2. Meanwhile, the commission said it has not yet reached a decision on a separate complaint filed against RSP candidate Lal Bikram Thapa, who is contesting from Sunsari–2. Officials said discussions on the matter are still ongoing.

In the ongoing election, complaints were filed against a total of five candidates. Among them, the candidacy of Resham Lal Chaudhary has been rejected after a review of the complaints.
