Eight Injured in Passenger Bus Accident in Melamchi, Sindhupalchok

Eight people were injured on Saturday afternoon when a passenger bus traveling from Bhotang to Melamchi lost control and plunged near the Indrawati River in Sindhupalchok, according to police.

Sindhupalchok — Eight people were injured in a bus accident that occurred on Saturday afternoon in the Melamchi area of Sindhupalchok district. The incident took place at around 1:00 PM along the Bhotang–Melamchi road section in Melamchi Municipality-10.

According to the District Police Office, Sindhupalchok, the passenger bus was traveling toward Melamchi from Bhotang when it lost control and veered off the road, landing near the banks of the Indrawati River.

Police officials stated that the front section of the bus, with registration number Na. Pra. 30–005 Kha 9976, experienced a mechanical failure, causing the vehicle to lose balance and plunge approximately 50 meters down to the riverbank.

Following the crash, the driver and seven other passengers sustained injuries. All of the injured were promptly rescued and transported to Melamchi Municipal Hospital for treatment. According to Inspector Madhav Raj Kharel, the condition of the injured individuals ranges from minor to moderate, and all are currently able to speak and remain in stable condition.
