Rastriya Swatantra Party Secures 56.59% Proportional Vote in Madhesh Province in Nepal Election

Rastriya Swatantra Party secured 1,300,468 votes, or 56.59 percent, in the proportional representation vote in Madhesh Province during Nepal’s march 5 House of Representatives election, according to the Election Commission.

Rastriya Swatantra Party secured 56.59 percent of the proportional representation vote in Madhesh Province during Nepal’s march 5 House of Representatives election, according to the Election Commission.

Kathmandu — Vote counting for the House of Representatives election held on march 5 has been completed, with results from the proportional representation category in Madhesh Province showing a strong lead for the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP).

According to the Election Commission, RSP received the highest number of votes in the province. Out of 2,298,082 valid votes counted in Madhesh Province, the party secured 1,300,468 votes.

The result gives RSP a vote share of 56.59 percent, reflecting strong support for the party in the province. Traditional political parties finished far behind in the vote count. The Nepali Congress received 287,323 votes, accounting for 12.50 percent of the total.

The Communist Party of Nepal–Unified Marxist Leninist (CPN-UML) secured 187,901 votes, representing 8.18 percent of the total vote. Among other parties, the Janata Samajbadi Party (JSP) Nepal received 137,878 votes, equivalent to about 6 percent of the total.

The Nepal Communist Party (NCP) secured 107,612 votes, accounting for 4.68 percent. The Janamat Party received 50,720 votes, representing 2.21 percent of the total vote. Meanwhile, the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) obtained 35,642 votes, equivalent to 1.55 percent of the total counted votes.
