Kathmandu — The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has submitted an updated proportional representation candidate list to the Election Commission of Nepal following the collapse of its unity process with the Ujyalo Nepal Party.

A delegation of RSP leaders, including Secretariat member Ganesh Parajuli, visited the Election Commission on Sunday morning to formally register the revised closed list for the House of Representatives election.

The move comes a day after the unity agreement between RSP and Ujyalo Nepal broke down. During the unity process, RSP had included 14 candidates from Ujyalo Nepal in the proportional representation list previously submitted to the Commission.

With the unity no longer in effect, the party has proceeded to amend the list in accordance with electoral laws and procedures.

RSP spokesperson Manish Jha confirmed the submission of the revised list. “The updated proportional representation candidate list for the upcoming election has been submitted to the Election Commission today on behalf of the Rastriya Swatantra Party,” he said.

Political parties have begun adjusting their organizational and electoral preparations as alliances shift ahead of the election, with RSP’s move reflecting procedural compliance following changes in its political arrangements.
