Nepal Cricket Vice-Captain Dipendra Singh Airee Resigns from Nepal Police Service

Kathmandu – Dipendra Singh Airee, vice-captain of Nepal’s national cricket team and captain of the Nepal Police Club, has officially resigned from the Nepal Police Service. Airee submitted his resignation letter to the Police Headquarters on May 10, 2025 (Baisakh 28, 2082 B.S.).

He had been serving in the Nepal Police force since 2016 and was promoted to Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) in October 2023 (Ashoj 2080 B.S.). Nepal Police spokesperson SSP Binod Ghimire confirmed that Airee’s resignation has been approved. However, Airee has not made any public statement on the matter.

In a brief comment to Khoj Khabar, Airee said, “Let’s not talk about this right now. I might speak on it sometime later.” Although he cited “personal reasons” in his resignation letter, speculation is growing that he may be preparing to move abroad.

His 2023 promotion was influenced by his historic half-century against Mongolia during the Asian Games held in China. Following his resignation, cricket fans are eager to know whether Airee will continue pursuing his cricket career or seek opportunities overseas.
