Trump Signals Reduction in Iran Military Action, Says Objectives Nearly Met
U.S. President Donald Trump has indicated a possible reduction in military operations against Iran, stating that key objectives are close to being achieved.
Kathmandu — U.S. President Donald Trump has indicated that the United States may scale down its ongoing military operations against Iran, stating that key objectives of the campaign are close to being achieved after nearly three weeks.
In a post on his Truth Social account, Trump said the United States is considering reducing the intensity of its attacks, adding that American forces are “very close” to meeting their goals.
Claims on Military Objectives
Trump stated that the operation targeted multiple areas, including Iran’s missile capabilities, launch systems, and related infrastructure. He claimed these systems have been largely neutralized.
He also said that Iran’s air defense system has been weakened and that its naval and air forces, along with anti-aircraft weapons, have been effectively disabled. Trump said preventing Iran from developing nuclear weapons remains a key objective and claimed that progress toward that goal has been made.
He added that the United States has also focused on ensuring the security of its regional allies, including Israel, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, and Kuwait.
Strait of Hormuz Security and Current Situation
Trump stated that countries using the Strait of Hormuz should take greater responsibility for its security. He said the United States would assist if requested but suggested that such involvement may not be necessary once threats linked to Iran are eliminated.
No official timeline has been announced for reducing military operations, and the situation remains under close international observation.
