Rastriya Swatantra Party Chair Rabi Lamichhane has dismissed speculation about divisions within the party, saying there is no possibility of a split despite repeated discussions in public and media circles. He made the remarks during the closing session of a two-day training program organized for party lawmakers in Lalitpur on Sunday.

The statement comes at a time when internal political discussions and leadership alignments have become a frequent topic surrounding the party. Addressing lawmakers directly, Lamichhane urged members to avoid factional thinking and remain focused on the broader political mission the party was formed to pursue.

Party Chair Rejects Split Rumors

Lamichhane said some people appeared eager to portray the party as divided and accused sections of the media of repeatedly publishing headlines suggesting internal conflict. According to him, such expectations would not materialize because the party leadership and members were politically mature enough to remain united.

He told lawmakers that while rumors and assumptions may continue to circulate, there was no chance of those predictions turning into reality. He stressed that the party remained stable and capable of handling internal discussions without creating divisions.

Remarks Made During Lawmakers’ Training Program

The comments were delivered at the conclusion of a two-day orientation and training event held for the party’s members of parliament in Lalitpur. The gathering focused on strengthening coordination among lawmakers and reinforcing the party’s political direction.

During his address, Lamichhane used the opportunity to directly speak about growing public narratives surrounding loyalty groups and internal alignments. He said such discussions were unnecessary and harmful to the party’s collective goals.

Warning Against Internal Grouping

Lamichhane also addressed claims that some leaders or supporters were being labeled as belonging to one camp or another within the party. Referring to discussions involving his own name and that of Kathmandu Mayor Balen Shah, he said there should be no attempt to create factions inside the organization.

He instructed party members not to promote identities based on personal loyalty or informal political camps. According to him, such behavior could weaken unity and distract the party from its long-term objectives.

Focus on Shared Political Goals

The party chair said lawmakers and members had not come together for short-term personal interests. Instead, he described the party as a shared political journey built around larger national goals and future aspirations.

Lamichhane said some members may have personal expectations or frustrations, including those who did not receive ministerial opportunities, but he urged everyone to move beyond individual concerns. He emphasized that the party’s mission was larger than personal ambitions.
