Kathmandu — Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) Chair person Rabi Lamichhane said he has successfully regained control of his official Facebook account after an attempted unauthorized access temporarily disrupted the page.
Lamichhane shared the update through a social media post, informing the public that his Facebook account is now back under his control. He also thanked everyone who expressed concern and followed the situation.
“Despite repeated attempts to hack my account, I have finally succeeded in restoring my Facebook account under my control,” Lamichhane wrote, adding that he wanted to share the update with those who had shown concern.
Earlier on Wednesday, Lamichhane’s official Facebook page experienced an attempt at unauthorized access by external actors. Following the suspicious activity, Meta, the parent company of Facebook, temporarily locked the page as a precautionary security measure.
After completing the necessary security checks and procedures, the account was restored and returned to Lamichhane’s control. He also urged social media users to remain cautious and take appropriate steps to keep their online accounts secure.
