Nepali Team Departs for Asian Bodybuilding and Physique Championship in Thailand

Nepal has sent a seven-member team to Bangkok for the Asian Bodybuilding and Physique Sports Championship. Athletes Gres Maharjan and Urmila Shrestha will represent the country in their respective categories.

The seven-member Nepali team was formally bid farewell in Kathmandu before leaving for the Asian Bodybuilding and Physique Championship in Thailand.

Kathmandu –A seven-member Nepali team, including two athletes, will depart for Thailand on Monday to participate in the Asian Bodybuilding and Physique Sports Championship scheduled to be held in Bangkok from August 18 to 25.

Gres Maharjan will compete in the men’s 85 kg weight category, while Urmila Shrestha will represent Nepal in the women’s athletic physique division. The delegation also includes Dinesh Kumar Rajbhandari as an official, Rujesh Shahi as coach, Pratap Kaji Bariya as judge, and Pradeep Amatya and Sunabh Subedi as supporting staff.

On Sunday, the team was formally bid farewell in Kathmandu by Tanka Lal Ghising, Member Secretary of the National Sports Council, during a special program.
