RSP Wins 20 Seats as Results Declared in 28 Constituencies in Nepal House of Representatives Election

Final results from 28 constituencies in Nepal’s House of Representatives election show the Rastriya Swatantra Party securing 20 seats, followed by Nepali Congress with five, NCP with two and CPN-UML with one.

Kathmandu — Vote counting in Nepal’s House of Representatives election is ongoing across the country. By 8:00 a.m. Saturday, final results had been announced in 28 constituencies, according to election officials.

Among the constituencies where results have been declared, the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has secured 20 seats, emerging as the largest winner so far. The Nepali Congress has won five seats, the Nepal Communist Party (NCP) has won two seats, and the CPN-UML has secured one seat.

RSP Wins 20 Constituencies

RSP candidates secured victories in multiple districts, including several constituencies in Kathmandu and other key regions.

In Chitwan-2, RSP Chairman Rabi Lamichhane won by a large margin with 54,402 votes. His closest rival, Meena Kharel of the Nepali Congress, received 14,564 votes, resulting in a margin of 39,838 votes.

In Banke-3, Khagendra Sunar of the RSP secured victory with 29,551 votes, defeating Suman Malla of the CPN-UML by 9,936 votes.

In Banke-1, RSP candidate Suresh Kumar Chaudhary won the seat with 32,792 votes, while Nepali Congress candidate Narayan Prasad Gaudel received 15,301 votes.

In Kathmandu-4, Pukar Bam of the RSP secured 29,142 votes, defeating Nepali Congress candidate Sachin Timilsena, who received 8,824 votes.

In Morang-6, RSP candidate Rubina Acharya won with 55,513 votes, defeating Nepali Congress leader Shekhar Koirala, who received 12,850 votes.

In Rupandehi-4, Kanhaiya Baniya of the RSP secured 28,066 votes, defeating CPN-UML candidate Pramod Kumar Yadav, who received 20,262 votes.

Nepali Congress Wins Five Seats

The Nepali Congress has secured victories in five constituencies so far.

In Tehrathum, Santosh Subba won with 11,561 votes, defeating Bhanubhakta Dhakal of the CPN-UML, who received 10,682 votes.

In Rasuwa, Mohan Acharya secured 10,656 votes, defeating RSP candidate Basant Bhatt.

In Manang, Nepali Congress candidate Tek Bahadur Gurung won with 2,415 votes, defeating Yoshoda Gurung of the NCP.

In Mustang, Yogesh Gauchan Thakali won with 3,307 votes, defeating CPN-UML candidate Indradhara Dadu Bista, who received 1,806 votes.

In Dailekh-1, Basna Thapa won with 12,372 votes, narrowly defeating Rabindra Raj Sharma of the NCP, who received 11,796 votes.

NCP Wins Two Constituencies

The Nepal Communist Party (NCP) has secured victories in two constituencies.

Party chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ won Rukum East with 10,240 votes, defeating Lila Mani Gautam of the CPN-UML and Kusum Devi Thapa of the Nepali Congress.

In Kalikot, Mahendra Bahadur Shahi won with 11,338 votes, defeating Nagindra Shahi of the CPN-UML by 986 votes.

UML Registers First Victory

The CPN-UML secured its first victory in the election in Banke-2.

CPN-UML candidate Mohammad Istiak Rai won with 24,628 votes, defeating Vivek Kumar Shrestha of the RSP, who received 18,682 votes. Rai won the seat by 5,946 votes.

Vote Counting Continues

Vote counting is still ongoing in several constituencies across Nepal. Election officials said additional results will be announced as counting continues. The early results show a strong performance by the Rastriya Swatantra Party, which has won the largest number of seats among the constituencies declared so far.
