Kamal Gaire has returned to the CPN-UML less than 24 hours after announcing his decision to join the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) through the political camp associated with Kathmandu Mayor Balen Shah.
Gaire had earlier resigned from his position as secretary of the Damak municipal committee of the UML-affiliated Youth Association before publicly declaring his entry into the RSP.
Confirming his return, Gaire shared a photograph with UML Chair KP Sharma Oli on social media. In his post, he stated that his earlier announcement to leave the party was made under pressure and influence from certain individuals.
He said that after reflection, study, and analysis, he decided to correct his decision and rejoin the UML. Gaire also stated that he would work to ensure Oli’s victory from Jhapa–5 in the upcoming election.
