Indonesia Set 114-Run Target for Nepal in Women’s Cricket Qualifier
Captain Ni Putu Ayu Nanda remained unbeaten on 56 as Indonesia posted 113 for 4 against Nepal in Kuala Lumpur.
Indonesia have given Nepal a target of 114 runs in the Asian Games Women’s Cricket Qualifier. In the match played at the Bayuemas Oval in Kuala Lumpur on Thursday, Indonesia scored 113 runs for the loss of four wickets in 20 overs.
After winning the toss and choosing to bat first, Indonesia did not get the start they wanted. The team lost an opener in the very first over. Captain Ni Putu Ayu Nanda Sakarini then steadied the innings and remained unbeaten on 56 runs.
Niluh Devi added 23 runs for Indonesia. Ayu Nanda and Devi shared an important 65-run partnership for the third wicket. Ni Made Putri Suwandewi contributed 13 runs.
Nepal also gave away 17 extra runs during the innings, which helped Indonesia reach a competitive total.
For Nepal, Manisha Upadhyay took two wickets while Riya Sharma picked up one wicket.
Nepal are currently at the top of Group B with two points after defeating China in their previous match. Indonesia are still without a point. A win for Nepal will confirm their place in the semi-finals as group winners.
If Nepal win, China will qualify as group runners-up. But if Indonesia win, all three teams will finish with two points each, and the semi-finalists will be decided on net run rate.
