Kathmandu — The oath-taking ceremony for the senior-most member of Nepal’s House of Representatives has been scheduled for March 25 (Chaitra 11). Nepali Congress lawmaker Arjun Narasingha K.C., 78, has been designated as the senior-most member of the House. He was elected through the proportional representation system.
In line with parliamentary procedure, the senior-most member will first take the oath of office and secrecy before the President. According to parliamentary sources, K.C. is scheduled to take the oath on the morning of March 25.
He will then administer the oath to other members of the House of Representatives. The Federal Parliament Secretariat has stated that the oath-taking ceremony for newly elected lawmakers will be held on March 26 (Chaitra 12).
