Nepali Congress nominates Hari Bohara as its candidate for Kanchanpur-3, replacing former Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak.

The Nepali Congress has decided not to nominate former Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak as its candidate from Kanchanpur Constituency No. 3. Lekhak had been an aspirant for the party’s ticket in the constituency.

He is a former central committee member and was elected from Kanchanpur-3 in the 2079 BS (2022) general election. He served as Home Minister during the period of the Gen Z movement.

The party’s Parliamentary Board instead selected Hari Bohara as its candidate for the constituency. Bohara confirmed his nomination, saying the party had officially named him as its candidate from Kanchanpur-3. “The party has made me its candidate,” Bohara said.
