RSP Chairman Rabi Lamichhane Begins Five-Day India Visit
Invited by BJP leader Nitin Navin, Lamichhane will hold political meetings in New Delhi and engage with the Nepali community during the five-day trip.
Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) Chair Rabi Lamichhane is leaving for India today on a five-day official visit that the party says is aimed at expanding political dialogue between Nepal and India. The visit comes at a time when Nepal’s newer political forces are increasingly seeking direct engagement beyond formal state channels, reflecting a broader effort to build relationships with influential actors across the region.
The visit is being made at the invitation of Nitin Navin, a leader of India’s Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). During his stay in New Delhi, Lamichhane is expected to hold high-level meetings with Indian political leaders.
According to the RSP, discussions will focus on Nepal–India relations, political cooperation and issues of mutual interest between the two countries.
The party has also planned a series of interactions with members of the Nepali community living in India as well as supporters of the party. Those engagements are expected to take place through various programs during the visit.
Delegation Accompanying Lamichhane
Lamichhane is leading a five-member delegation that includes:
- Bipin Kumar Acharya, Joint General Secretary of the party and Member of the House of Representatives
- Deepak Bohara, Secretariat Member and Member of the House of Representatives
- Nikita Paudel
- Pradip Acharya
The itinerary also includes a visit to Ayodhya, one of India’s major religious and cultural sites. The delegation is scheduled to return to Nepal after completing the visit.
RSP said the Embassy of Nepal in New Delhi has been coordinating and facilitating arrangements for the visit. The party believes the trip will contribute to stronger Nepal–India relations and create additional space for political engagement between parties in the two countries.
