The government convened its regular Cabinet meeting on Thursday with Prime Minister Balendra (Balen) Shah chairing discussions at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers in Singha Durbar. The meeting comes as the administration continues routine policy deliberations while facing expectations for decisions affecting governance, public administration, and ongoing development work.

Cabinet Reviews Governance and Policy Agenda

According to the Prime Minister’s Secretariat, ministers are discussing the current political situation, administrative matters, and regular agenda items submitted by various ministries. The meeting is also expected to consider issues requiring policy-level decisions by the government.

The Cabinet serves as the government’s principal decision-making body on major policy matters, and Thursday’s meeting is being closely watched for decisions that could influence the functioning of public institutions and the implementation of government programmes. While the agenda includes routine administrative business, outcomes may also shape the pace of ministry-level execution in the coming weeks.

Decisions Expected After Meeting Concludes

Possible decisions are expected to relate to public administration, development projects, and the performance of individual ministries, although no official outcomes had been announced while the meeting was underway.

The government is expected to release the detailed decisions through its official channels after the Cabinet meeting concludes.
