The main opposition party has set a three-week deadline to complete the renewal and update of its active membership records as part of preparations for its upcoming national convention later this year.

A meeting of the party’s membership management committee held at the central office in Sanepa on Thursday decided that all membership distribution, renewal, and update procedures must be completed by June 4.

The committee is coordinated by General Secretary Pradeep Paudel, who said the campaign is aimed at strengthening the party’s organizational structure ahead of the 15th general convention scheduled for October.

The party has also expanded the use of digital tools to modernize its membership system, allowing members to update their records online through mobile devices. Leaders say the move is intended to create one of the country’s strongest digitally managed political membership networks.

Party Sets Deadline for Membership Update

The membership management committee instructed all lower-level party units to complete the active membership update process within the announced deadline. According to party officials, the process includes new membership distribution, renewal of expired memberships, and correction of existing records.

The decision was taken during a committee meeting at the central office in Sanepa on Thursday. Leaders said timely completion of the process is essential because only verified active members will be allowed to participate in the party’s upcoming convention process.

General Secretary Pradeep Paudel stated that the committee is treating the membership update drive as a key organizational task before the convention preparations move into the next stage.

Digital System Introduced for Members

The party has launched an online self-application system that allows active members to fill out and update membership forms directly through their mobile phones.

Officials said the digital platform was introduced to simplify the process and reduce dependence on physical paperwork. Members can access the online application through the party’s membership portal and submit updates independently.

The committee said the system is part of a broader effort to strengthen record management and improve coordination across different levels of the organization.

Party leaders also claimed the digital initiative would help build a more organized and reliable membership database for future internal activities and elections.

Support Available Through Phone and AI Assistance

To support members facing technical difficulties, the party has arranged multiple assistance channels.

According to the committee, members who encounter problems during the online update process can contact a dedicated support number and receive help from an AI-based assistance service.

Additional support is also available through the central office’s digital assistance center. Officials said members can call the provided numbers for guidance regarding form submission, renewal procedures, and technical issues.

The party has further arranged a phone-based update option for members who may not be comfortable using online systems independently.

Phone-Based Membership Renewal Also Allowed

Officials said members can complete the update process over the phone by responding to a questionnaire during the call.

The arrangement has been introduced to ensure wider participation, especially for those who may face difficulties accessing digital platforms or completing online forms.

The acting chief secretary, Krishna Prasad Dulal, said the system was designed to make the membership process more accessible and efficient.

Leaders believe the combination of online services and phone support will help complete the campaign within the targeted timeline.

Overseas Party Networks Included in the Process

The party has also extended the online self-application system to its overseas public relations committees.

Officials said members affiliated with party organizations outside the country will be able to use the same digital system to update their active membership records.

The move is expected to improve coordination with international chapters and ensure participation from members living abroad in the convention-related process.

Party leaders noted that overseas participation has become increasingly important in internal organizational activities, making digital access necessary.

Updated Membership Mandatory for Convention Participation

The committee warned that members who fail to renew or update their active membership and obtain the party identification card will not be allowed to participate in the 15th general convention process.

According to party rules, only verified active members are eligible to take part in convention-related activities and representation procedures.

The membership management committee has directed all subordinate units to ensure that eligible members complete the process within the given timeframe.

Officials stressed that delays in updating records could affect participation rights during the convention season.

Preparations Underway for October Convention

The party has already announced its schedule for holding the 15th general convention in October.

Leaders say the membership update campaign is one of the most important preparatory tasks before the convention process formally accelerates across the country.

The convention is expected to involve organizational restructuring, leadership contests, and participation from verified active members at multiple levels.

By introducing digital tools and setting a strict deadline, the party leadership aims to complete the membership management process in an organized manner before convention activities intensify in the coming months.
