Kathmandu — Vishnu Rimal, who lost the race for Deputy General Secretary at the 11th National Convention of the Communist Party of Nepal (Unified Marxist–Leninist), has said the election result should be taken as a normal and healthy part of the party’s democratic process.

Sharing his views through social media, Rimal said the outcome was neither surprising nor a matter of concern. He described the 11th National Convention as successful and meaningful, marked by dignity, enthusiasm, and a strong sense of collective achievement.

According to Rimal, the convention witnessed healthy and comradely competition during the leadership selection process. He noted that the panel proposed under the leadership of party chair KP Sharma Oli was approved almost unanimously, with competitive elections taking place in only a few positions.

Rimal said such results demonstrate the party’s commitment to internal democracy rather than indicating any internal problem. Referring to the principles of People’s Multiparty Democracy, he said initiative, competition, and earning leadership mandates are core values of the party’s political culture.

He added that the results were accepted with confidence, restraint, and responsibility by party leaders and cadres. Rimal also expressed his gratitude to party members and supporters for the encouragement and goodwill he received during the convention.

He said that although his formal position within the party has changed, his commitment to the party’s ideology and shared mission remains firm. “Roles may change, but our destination remains the same,” he said, reaffirming his intention to continue working alongside fellow party members in the days ahead.
