Umesh Chauhan, the Editor-in-Chief of Kantipur Daily, has resigned from his position after leading the newspaper’s editorial operations for five years. He announced his decision to journalists in the newsroom at Kantipur’s headquarters in Tinkune, Kathmandu.

Despite announcing his resignation, Chauhan said he will continue leading the newsroom until Kantipur Publications appoints a new Editor-in-Chief. Speaking in the newsroom, Chauhan said he decided to resign after careful consideration and that the decision was made on mutual understanding.
