Former Kathmandu Metropolitan Police Chief Rajunath Pandey has entered electoral politics, filing his candidacy from Kathmandu Constituency No. 3 representing the Rastriya Swatantra Party after resigning from public office.

Former Kathmandu Metropolitan Police Chief Rajunath Pandey has officially filed his candidacy for the House of Representatives from Kathmandu Constituency No. 3 on behalf of the Rastriya Swatantra Party.

Pandey, who spent several years serving in a senior policing role in Kathmandu Metropolitan City, entered the electoral race after stepping down from public office. He had resigned from his position on Magh 1, clearing the way for his move into active politics.

Drawing on his long experience in public security and administration, Pandey has said he intends to bring that background into the policy-making arena if elected. His candidacy is expected to add momentum to the political contest in Kathmandu-3, where multiple parties are preparing for a competitive race ahead of the election.
