The Nepali Congress Arghakhanchi district committee has finalized its recommendations for the House of Representatives and National Assembly elections, forwarding multiple candidates due to strong interest among party members.

The Nepali Congress in Arghakhanchi has completed its candidate recommendation process for the upcoming elections to the House of Representatives and the National Assembly, party officials said. According to the district committee, a larger number of aspirants at the local level led to the recommendation of more candidates than outlined in the party’s central guidelines.

For the House of Representatives under the first-past-the-post system, the party has recommended eight leaders. The recommended candidates are Revati Prasad Bhusal, Bishnu Prasad Khanal ‘Muskan’, Kamal Prasad Bhusal, Lekhnath Pokhrel, Muktiram Shrestha, Jay Bahadur Tandon, Tara Prasad Shrestha, and Baburam Paudel.

Under the proportional representation category, six candidates have been recommended with a focus on inclusivity and representation of women, Dalits, and various communities. Those recommended are Pushpa Bhusal, Nirmala Chhetri, Maniram Pariyar, Lalita Sunar, Rajendra K.C., and Bishnu Prasad Aryal.

For the National Assembly elections, the district committee has recommended three leaders: Ram Bahadur Bisi, Pitambar Sharma Bhusal, and Bal Krishna Pandey. District President Keshav Shrestha said the party was compelled to recommend more names than the central quota due to a high number of interested aspirants.

He added that the final decision will be made by the party’s central leadership. The strong internal participation has further intensified the election atmosphere within the Nepali Congress in Arghakhanchi.
