Kathmandu — Nepal’s Home Minister Sudan Gurung has instructed security personnel to enforce the law firmly and without delay, emphasizing transparency and accountability in the execution of their duties.
During an inspection of the District Police Office in Jawalakhel, Lalitpur, on Saturday, Minister Gurung held direct discussions with police officials and urged them to ensure effective, impartial, and service-oriented policing. He stressed that law enforcement agencies must operate in a manner that maintains public trust.
As part of the visit, he also reviewed the operations of the police circle in Satdobato. According to Police Superintendent Gautam Mishra, the minister examined security management, daily operations, and public service delivery, while providing direction on areas requiring improvement.
Earlier in the day, Minister Gurung inspected the Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office in Ramshah Path. He highlighted the need to further streamline traffic management and adopt technology-driven approaches, while directing officials to strictly enforce road discipline.
The inspections are being viewed as part of the government’s broader effort to strengthen the effectiveness of security agencies and improve public service delivery.
