Kathmandu Mayor Balen Shah Opens Party Office in Lalitpur

Metropolitan City Mayor Balen Shah has started operating his political party office from Jawalakhel, Lalitpur, marking a new phase in his expanding political engagement.

Kathmandu Metropolitan City Mayor Balen Shah is set to begin formal operations of his political party’s office from Friday, according to his secretariat. Shah has rented a two-storey house in Jawalakhel, Ward No. 10 of Lalitpur Metropolitan City, to serve as the party’s office.

While the exterior painting of the building has not been completed, interior decoration and essential setup work have been finalized, making the office ready for use.

The newly established office will function as the main venue for political meetings, consultations, and discussions. In recent days, Mayor Shah has intensified his political engagements, and all upcoming interactions are expected to take place from the party office.

Previously, Shah had been holding a series of meetings at the Jawalakhel residence of his secretariat member, Kumar Ben. The mayor’s secretariat clarified that political meetings will no longer be conducted at that residence and will instead be shifted entirely to the party office.

Despite the office becoming operational, Mayor Shah will not engage in political meetings on Friday afternoon. According to his secretariat, he will be occupied with the 18th session of the Kathmandu Metropolitan City Assembly scheduled for the same day.

The start of operations at the party office marks a significant organizational step in Shah’s political activities while he continues to carry out his duties as mayor.
