Kathmandu — Newly appointed Prime Minister Balen Shah on Friday instructed ministers and senior government officials to prioritize efficiency, coordination and improved public service delivery immediately after assuming office.

Shah issued the directives after taking the oath of office and secrecy before President Ram Chandra Paudel and arriving at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers at 2:15 pm.

He held a briefing with ministers and top bureaucrats, outlining the government’s working approach and immediate priorities. Chief Secretary Suman Raj Aryal and other secretaries briefed the prime minister on the status of ministries and ongoing government programs.

During the meeting, Shah emphasized the need for effective coordination, faster decision-making and improved service delivery, according to officials. The move marks Shah’s first administrative engagement, indicating a focus on governance efficiency and reform.
