Nepal Embassy Confirms No Fines for Nepalis Overstaying in UAE

The Embassy of Nepal in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has confirmed that Nepali nationals who overstayed their visas after February 28 will not face fines. In an official notice issued Tuesday, the embassy said it had received information that no penalties would be imposed on those whose visas expired after February 28 and who remain in the UAE due to the developing situation in the Middle East.

Rising tensions in the region have disrupted regular travel and administrative procedures, preventing some Nepali citizens from returning home as scheduled. The embassy urged Nepalis in the UAE not to panic, remain calm, and rely only on official updates.

Online Portal Launched for Affected Nepalis

To collect verified information on Nepali nationals in the UAE and coordinate necessary support, Nepal’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has launched a new online portal. The embassy has requested individuals facing difficulties to update their details through the portal as soon as possible.

Priority for Stranded and Visa-Expired Citizens

According to the embassy, priority will initially be given to two groups. The first includes Nepalis stranded at UAE airports while transiting through other countries on their way to Nepal. The second includes those whose UAE visas have expired or were canceled by their employers and who had already purchased air tickets to return to Nepal but are now unable to travel due to the current situation.

The embassy stated that coordination efforts are ongoing and advised Nepali nationals requiring assistance to contact official embassy channels.
