Minister Prabhat Lama Pledges Budget for Rasuwa’s Development Priorities

Rasuwa – Bagmati Province Minister for Economic Affairs and Planning Prabhat Lama has pledged to channel the provincial budget toward the needs and priorities of his home district, Rasuwa.

Making his first visit since taking office, Lama said he would give special focus to education, healthcare, and infrastructure—areas where the district has lagged behind. He stressed that development should be shaped by the voices of local people and called for unity to raise living standards.

Lama was welcomed at Betrabati, Kalikasthan, Dhunche, and Syabrubesi, where residents presented him with a list of demands. They asked for road repairs, completion of the integrated customs office under construction at Rasuwagadhi, and improvements to the Gosainkunda religious route.

They also sought better healthcare facilities, agricultural support, new schools, and an apple cold storage center. According to Nepali Congress Rasuwa president Pemwaching Tamang, locals also called for new foot trails, tourism infrastructure in the Gosainkunda area, and projects directly linked to their daily lives.

“People want the minister to address issues that matter most to them,” Tamang said. In response, Lama assured that these demands would be reflected in the provincial budget as far as possible, signaling his commitment to Rasuwa’s overall development.
