Kathmandu – On Tuesday, Gyan Bahadur Shahi, Chief Spokesperson of the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP), demanded clear answers in the House of Representatives regarding GB Rai, the main accused in the cooperative fraud case. Shahi stated, “Nearly 7.38 million people’s money has been embezzled in the cooperative scam. Why has the government not been able to arrest Rai so far? The government’s role must be clarified.”

He added, “When in opposition, the current Home Minister promised to bring GB Rai to justice. So, where is he hiding now? Where is Rai being sheltered?” Shahi urged the government to show political will, accusing it of lacking the desire to arrest Rai. “If the government wanted, they could have easily arrested him,” he said.

Shahi also criticized the Nepali Congress, saying, “It seems Congress has betrayed BP Koirala’s ideology. It is concerning that voices defending democracy and republicanism are declining in Parliament.” On the visit visa controversy, Shahi warned the government, “This is part of our campaign against human trafficking. The government should form an investigative committee based on the seriousness of the crime, not political numbers.”
