Israel Ready for 60-Day Gaza Ceasefire as Trump Confirms Talks Progress

Efforts to end the ongoing conflict in Gaza have intensified in recent days. According to former U.S. President Donald Trump, Israel has expressed its readiness to agree to a 60-day ceasefire in the Gaza Strip. In a post on his social media platform, Trump stated that the terms of the ceasefire are being negotiated with the mediation of Qatar and Egypt, who will finalize the agreement.

Trump Expects Hamas to Agree as Civilian Toll Mounts

Trump also expressed optimism that Hamas would agree to the ceasefire. “Hamas will now agree too, because the situation will only get worse otherwise,” he wrote. Although multiple rounds of negotiations between Israel and Hamas have taken place in the past, a lasting resolution has yet to be achieved.

The conflict in Gaza has resulted in heavy civilian casualties, drawing increasing international concern. In the last 12 days alone, hundreds of people have been killed in the Gaza Strip. According to reports, around 50 hostages are still being held by Hamas, with only 25 of them believed to be alive. Global pressure is mounting for the swift and safe release of all hostages.

Israeli Public Demands Diplomatic Action; Nepali Hostage Still Missing

In Israel, public demonstrations have erupted, with citizens urging their government to prioritize diplomatic negotiations over military operations to bring the hostages home safely. Many Israelis have criticized Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s military strategy, saying it has put the lives of the remaining hostages at greater risk.

Among those still held captive by Hamas is a Nepali national, Bipin Joshi. His condition and whereabouts remain unknown. The Government of Nepal has been appealing to mediating countries to help secure his safe return through diplomatic efforts.
