Nepali Congress Appoints Three Members to Central Audit Committee

Nepali Congress has expanded its central audit committee by appointing three new members, in a move seen as part of the party’s ongoing effort to strengthen internal financial oversight and organizational accountability.

Acting Chief Secretary Krishna Prasad Dulal said on Sunday that party spokesperson and General Secretary Gagan Thapa made the appointments to the committee led by central member Bharat Kumar Shah.

Dilip Dhungana of Dhanusha, Ramesh Nepal of Bhaktapur and Padam Bhattarai of Gulmi have been nominated as members of the committee.

The central audit committee plays a key role in reviewing the party’s financial management, internal accounting processes and organizational expenditures at a time when major political parties are facing increasing public scrutiny over transparency and governance practices.

Internal oversight committee expanded

The newly expanded committee will work under the coordination of Bharat Kumar Shah, who has been entrusted with leading the party’s internal accounting oversight responsibilities.

The appointments come as the Nepali Congress continues preparations for organizational activities and internal administrative restructuring ahead of upcoming political engagements and party programs.

Party focusing on organizational management

The party leadership has in recent months emphasized institutional strengthening, internal discipline and management reforms across various party structures.

The inclusion of representatives from different districts is also being viewed as an attempt to ensure broader participation within the party’s organizational mechanisms.
