Speaker DP Aryal Forms Parliamentary Advisory Committee

New committee to guide House proceedings, scheduling, and legislative coordination under Speaker Aryal

House Speaker Dol Prasad Aryal has formed a Parliamentary Advisory Committee to improve the management and efficiency of House proceedings.

The newly established Parliamentary Advisory Committee will advise the Speaker on key parliamentary functions, including scheduling, agenda setting, and coordination among lawmakers. The move follows established parliamentary practices aimed at ensuring smooth and orderly sessions.

The committee is chaired by the Speaker, with the Deputy Speaker and the Minister for Law, Justice, and Parliamentary Affairs serving as ex-officio members. These positions are expected to provide institutional oversight and ensure that legislative processes remain aligned with constitutional provisions.

A total of 21 lawmakers have been appointed as members, representing a diverse political background. The members include Achyutam Lamichhane, Apsana Banu, Aren Rai, KP Khanal, Kamini Chaudhary, Krantishikha Dhital, Khushbu Oli, Ganesh Singh Thagunna, Guru Prasad Baral, Ganga Laxmi Awal, Tapeswor Yadav, Devaraj Pathak, Narendra Kumar Kerung, Prakash Chandra Pariyar, Nisha Dangi, Bodh Narayan Shrestha, Mina Kumari Yadav, Yuvraj Dulal, Rajan Gautam, Dr. Ram Lama, and Bipin Kumar Acharya.

Officials said the Parliamentary Advisory Committee will play a vital role in facilitating discussions on legislative priorities and improving coordination among political parties. It is also expected to help manage time effectively during periods of increased legislative activity.

The formation of the Parliamentary Advisory Committee comes at a time when consensus-building and efficient workflow are critical to addressing pending legislative matters. The committee is expected to support more structured and timely parliamentary sessions in the coming days.
