Roshan Pokharel, a resident of Falgunanda Rural Municipality–7 in Panchthar, was detained on april 9 for allegedly publishing abusive content targeting the prime minister and other political leaders on YouTube.
He was later released on the condition that he would appear when required, according to DSP Anish Karn of the District Police Office Panchthar.

Pokharel’s arrest followed an investigation by Nepal Police’s Cyber Bureau, which led local authorities to detain him under cybercrime-related charges. A district court had granted a 10-day remand for further inquiry.
