YCL Nepal Steps Up Security and Youth Mobilization Ahead of Elections

The Young Communist League Nepal has announced nationwide security deployment and youth mobilization measures as part of its preparations for the upcoming elections.

Kathmandu — The Young Communist League (YCL) Nepal has decided to step up its organizational activities ahead of the upcoming elections, with a focus on security arrangements and large-scale youth mobilization.

The decision was taken at a virtual meeting of the organization’s Central Committee, which endorsed a nationwide strategy aimed at strengthening coordination and field-level operations during the election period.

According to YCL leaders, special teams will be deployed in all constituencies throughout the elections. The organization said it will prioritize the safety of voters and candidates by stationing its Special Task Force (STF) in a camping model across the country. Under the plan, STF units will be placed in all 165 electoral constituencies.

Youth Mobilization and Digital Strategy

The YCL also plans to mobilize youth extensively to create a favorable election environment. Under the campaign concept “One Booth, One Hundred Youth,” local youths will be assigned responsibilities within their respective polling areas. The organization said it will make maximum use of digital platforms and social media as part of its election activities.

Coordination Mechanism and Leadership Directives

The meeting further decided to establish a separate coordination mechanism to engage with youth, students, and Generation Z groups across party lines. It also resolved to set up command centers in all provinces, bringing together leaders who emerged from the party’s unification process to centrally manage election-related activities.

During the meeting, party coordinator Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ and faction in-charge Dipshikha directed YCL cadres to play an active role in ensuring a successful election. They stressed that youth participation would be critical to advancing the party’s election strategy.

As the election approaches, the YCL’s decisions signal a renewed emphasis on security coordination, organizational discipline, and structured youth mobilization.
