PM Balen Shah Calls Cabinet Meeting Today

Second Cabinet meeting to review reforms and set new policy direction at Singha Durbar

Prime Minister Balen Shah has called a Cabinet meeting scheduled for 4 PM today, marking the second Cabinet meeting of the newly formed government.

According to government spokesperson and Education Minister Summit Pokharel, the meeting will take place at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers in Singha Durbar. The session comes as the government begins implementing its initial policy priorities following the formation of the new Cabinet.

The first Cabinet meeting was held shortly after the government was formed last Friday. During that meeting, the Cabinet decided to move forward with implementing the recommendations of the Karki Commission, signaling an early focus on governance reform and institutional accountability.

In addition, the Cabinet approved a 100-point governance reform agenda aimed at improving public service delivery, strengthening administrative efficiency, and increasing transparency across government bodies. These measures are expected to guide the administration’s short-term actions.

The Cabinet meeting called by Prime Minister Balen Shah today is expected to assess progress on earlier decisions and set further policy directions. Cabinet meetings are typically held on Mondays and Thursdays as part of the government’s regular schedule.

As the new administration continues to take shape, today’s meeting is likely to play an important role in defining its immediate priorities and execution strategy.
